APSG Workshop 2010 at Shanghai Astronomical Observatory

The workshop gathered more than 100 participants coming from 9 countries and regions around the Asia-Pacific area, including Australia, China, Japan, South Korea, Thailand, Russia, USA, Taiwan and Hong Kong working on Space Geodynamics. It has 54 oral presentations and 15 posters on four topics:
1. Gravity, Time-Variable Gravity and Earth Rotation Dynamics
Space-borne, absolute/superconducting gravimetry and their applications.
2. Crustal Dynamics and Earthquake
Monitoring crustal movement and deformation by space techniques and earthquake monitoring.
3. Sea level change, water and atmospheric variations
Results given by space techniques, comparison with models and terrestrial observations.
4. The Moon and Planetary Geodesy
New results from CE-1、SELENE and introductions about future missions
During the workshop, the Taiwan team with about 20 persons was organized to visit Sheshan station of SHAO. In addition, the workshop arranged the participants to visit the World Expo in Shanghai.
The workshop provided an opportunity to broaden international and national cooperation in Space Geodynamics activities and to strengthen the friendship and academic exchanges between them. It also gets a deeper understanding about the theory, technology and observation to Earth environment changes in the Astro-geodynamics realm, especially, about the new gravity satellite projects.
