Foreign Youth Scientists Project funding from CAS of Year 2010 obtained by SHAO

   First Foreign Youth Scientists Project funding of Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) of Year 2010 was announced days ago by the CAS.

   SHAO obtained three fundings, which shared by Dr. Pascal Jahan Elahi of Queen’s University, Canada, recommended by Prof. Yipeng Jing, Dr. Hiroshi Oda of Havard-Smithonian Astrophysics Center of Harvard University, USA, recommended by Prof. Feng Yuan, and Assistant Professor Yuji Harada of National Astronomical Observatory of Japan, recommended by Prof. Jinsong Ping. All three youth scholars plan to work for one year in SHAO.

   This Project is an important part of Overseas Intelligence Introduction and International Talent Exchange and Training Project, facing foreign (non-Chinese) excellent youth scientists with PhD degree and outstanding achievement and younger than 40-year-old. The funding period is 12 months and the funding strength is RMB 150-250 thousand Yuan per year.
